Dr Tamar Achjian is a Consultant Gynaecologist with internationally recognised training and extensive experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. She graduated from the American University of Beirut and completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she received multiple awards. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and holds a Master of Public Health from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

 

Dr Achjian has advanced expertise in menopause diagnosis and treatment and is certified by The Menopause Society. Her clinical focus includes menopausal symptoms, hormonal disorders, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, cervical pathology, and urinary incontinence. She is highly experienced in minimally invasive gynaecological procedures, including hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy.

 

She has previously served as Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch and remains professionally active across regions. Dr Achjian is licensed to practise in Abu Dhabi, California, and Texas and maintains a visiting attending position in California.

 

Her practice encompasses comprehensive women’s health care, including well woman examinations, breast health, contraceptive counselling, hormone replacement therapy, colposcopy, and surgical management where appropriate. She is fluent in Arabic, English, and Armenian.
